This game works great as a math center for students who are working on addition. It helps students learn to add fluently to 5. There are two sets of addition sentence cards to add for differentiation. A recording sheet is also included.
How to play:
Lay the number cards out on the floor or table in a straight line (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
Place the addition sentence cards face down in a pile. (2 levels of play: one with raindrops above the numbers to allow for counting & one with just the addition sentences)
Students take turns flipping over a card and solving the addition problem.
They then lay the card under the number that shows its sum. (EX: if their card says 1+3= then they would lay it under number 4 which would be its sum)
Each child in the group then records the addition sentence under the correct number on their recording sheet.
Repeat with the next player!
