Product Description

This LOW-PREP articulation activity gives lots of opportunities for your students to be creative while working on their speech sounds!

PREP: Print out this document and store in a folder to make copies as needed. Cut some springy-colored tissue paper into squares, rectangles, or strips. No need to worry about straight edges; the colors can overlap as your students fill in their flowers. Use glue sticks for a tidier option, or get out some liquid glue and paintbrushes (your students will paint their worksheets and press pieces of tissue paper on the glue). You can also cut out each clover and have students glue onto construction paper before adding their tissue paper.

ACTIVITY: Ask each student to pick one word on his/her flower, and practice saying the target word in the appropriate context of his/her skill level. After he/she says the word, one piece of tissue paper may be chosen to cover the section of the flower with the word practiced. Continue this process until flowers are complete.

* NOTE : You can also use crayons, markers, dot paint, etc. to cover each section of the flower if you prefer.

Outline of suggested materials to use with these worksheets during therapy:

OPTION 1: tissue paper craft (more exciting option :))

  • liquid glue, paper plate/cup & paintbrush OR glue stick (my personal preference)
  • tissue paper cut into strips, squares, rectangles, etc. - I present in a veggies & dip tray for organization/ease.
  • optional: colorful construction paper and scissors

OPTION 2: coloring sheet (faster, neater, & less prep option)

  • crayons, colored pencils, dot paint, markers, or other coloring utensils.
