Have some fun with math this Spring!
In this activity the students will count collections of place value blocks and then color their answer on a 100s Chart. It is like a color by numbers only using place value blocks and a 100s chart.
Place value is a very important concept for primary children to work on. Being able to relate numbers to corresponding images, such as place value blocks, will greatly help them with their addition and subtraction work, especially when they start working with two digit numbers.
This file contains two sets of two pages. The sets are of a spring chick & the Easter bunny. In each set you will receive:
1) A 100s chart (one with a chicken's wing on it and the other with a bunny's whiskers featured) along with a number of place value images for the students to count.
2) An answer key showing the final image.
The final images your students will create is are of a chick & a bunny! This set was designed so that the chick would be an easier image to create and the bunny slightly more challenging. This would be great for multi-age, multi-ability classrooms as each grouping could work on a Spring image suitable to their level.
This file is also available as 8.5x11 sheets. If you are unable to print 11x17, these would be a much better option. In the 8.5x11 size the 100s chart and place value clue sheet are printed separately. Please visit my store to get that file.
You can also find other 100s Chart coloring sheets for place value, addition, subtraction, & multiplication in my store.
