I love creating themed math and literacy centers for my students. I have found that many of my students have trouble counting on from any given number, so I created this spring themed center to help them with this. The student picks a numbered kite, and finds the next four numbered ribbons that come next. For example, after picking a kite with the number 40, the student then finds the numbered ribbons 41, 42, 43, and 44. The ribbons are also in the color pattern yellow, blue, red, and green (to help students put the numbers in the correct order). The numbers go from 1-100, and I have included blank kites and ribbons for you to add any additional numbers you would like. After putting all the numbers in order, students can record their work and practice writing numbers on the attached recording sheet.
This center can also be used for before and after numbers. The student would pick a numbered kite, and then find the numbered ribbons that come before or after.
