This spring fun pack contains directions for three library media center games and activities to enjoy while the weather turns warm and students thoughts turn to the outdoors! Each activity contains opportunities for students to be actively engaged in learning through movement and kinesthetic learning. The games connect to library skills and gives students opportunities to demonstrate mastery of those skills.
This 27-page packet includes:
*Sensational Shamrocks--Students go on a treasure hunt throughout the library media center to find shamrocks hidden by a visiting leprechaun. Then, they work together to answer questions hidden on the shamrocks. Game instructions, as well as game questions and an answer key, are included.
*Planting Call Numbers: Blooming with Books--After reading Allison's Zinnia by Anita Lobel, students are given an opportunity to replicate the alphabetical order found in the book by arranging call numbers in order. Templates for the flower call numbers are provided.
*Eggs-Citing Books--Let students burn off excess spring energy after reading The Perfect Nest! After an old-fashioned spoon and egg race, students crack open their plastic eggs to find spring book titles hidden inside. Working as a team, they must locate the books on the OPAC and then in the library media center.
