Spring Articulation Dough Smash Mats is an interactive articulation game that uses Play dough to engage the students to target initial articulation sounds.
Spring Articulation Dough Mats includes 13 pond smash mats and 13 sound decks that correspond with the pond smash mats. There is one pond mat for each of the following initial sounds: K, G, F, V, S, Th, Sh, Ch, L, R, S blends, L blends and R blends. This allows students working on different sounds to participate using the same activity.
1.) Laminate the pond smash mats and the sound decks.
2.) Cut out the sound decks on the dotted line.
3.) Give each student a pond and play dough.
4.) Place the sound decks on the table face down.
5.) Each student selects a card from the table and practices the word.
6.) If the student has the picture on their pond they cover it with dough.
7.) If the student does not have the picture they give it to the student who does. Then that student practices the word and covers it with dough..
8.) The first student to cover their card with dough wins.
Alternate: Cover the pictures using small toys or chips.
