Four days worth of spring themed activities to review the following: similes, metaphors, personification, onomatopoeia, alliteration, idioms, and homophone pairs. On the first day the students will read sentences and identify the figurative language used in each sentence. On the second day, the students will brainstorm ideas about spring using their five senses and then will write 3 sentences of their own using figurative language. On the 3rd day they will use their brainstorming to help them write a Show Don't Tell descriptive paragraph about spring. On the 4th day they will revise and edit their paragraph with a classmate, using the checklist provided. When they finish revising and editing, they will write the final draft for their spring description.
