Product Description
Developmentally appropriate Spring literacy centers for the preschool, pre-k, and kindergarten classroom! This resource is perfect for all developmental and cognitive levels of early childhood. The centers are fun, engaging, and offer challenges and reinforcement of basic skills.

This resource is set up with 3 levels of developmentally appropriate Spring themed writing and fine motor centers for the early childhood classroom. Every class is different, every student is different, so this resource gives you the option of starting out slowly, building on what your students know, and offering a challenge as skills are mastered

Centers Included:

Level 1: Tracing Lines Vertical & Horizontal

This beginning level will help students practice using their “pinching” fingers to grip a dry erase marker. I usually start my kiddos out with a fat marker. Practice pinching the marker close to the writing tip. Instruct the students to follow the lines with the marker by drawing directly over the line. Remind the students to ‘pinch’, but do not force it. Both horizontal and vertical lines are included. This can be frustrating for some kids, take it slow and celebrate their progress!

Level 2: Correct Formation Write & Wipe

This center activity builds on the tracing activity by tracing a smaller area and forming letters. In this center we still remind students to use their pinching fingers, but this time we follow dots and arrows to correctly form the letters of the alphabet. The size of the lines are smaller and in a confined area. There is no need to trace every letter of the alphabet, but have them ready because you will have a few kids who will want the challenge!

Level 3: Trace & Write

This activity builds on the first two. In this activity the letters to trace are smaller and inside lines. There is also a box where students can independently write the letters they have just practiced tracing. This can be a real challenge for early learners, but the joy on their faces when they see that they can write a letter without the lines to guide them is the BEST!

Choose the centers that work best for your classroom!
