Developmentally appropriate Spring counting math centers for the preschool, pre-k, and kindergarten classroom! This resource is perfect for all developmental and cognitive levels of early childhood. The centers are fun, engaging, and offer challenges and reinforcement of basic skills.
This resource is set up with 3 levels of developmentally appropriate Spring themed one-to-one Correspondence and Counting centers for the early childhood classroom. Every class is different, every student is different, so this resource gives you the option of starting out slowly, building on what your students know, and offering a challenge as skills are mastered.
Level 1: Spring Flower Count
This beginning level will help students recognize numbers and make the connection that each number means a quantity. The students will place a pom-pom or button at the top of each stem to make a flower-the amount of stems will match the number on each flower stem card. Make a beautiful garden and count the flowers!
Level 2: Duck and Duckling Count & Link
This center activity builds on the fist by adding higher numbers and links. Each duck card will have a number on it, the number means a quantity just as in the first level. Link the same number of ducklings to the mama duck. For an extra challenge this activity uses numbers 1-15. Challenge the students who are ready, practice smaller numbers with those who are not.
Level 3: Spring Count & Clip-1-10, 4 Sets
This activity builds on the first two, but adds the element of choosing between three numbers instead of seeing just one possibility. The pictures are small and extra attention needs to be given and counting needs to be slow and methodical. The use of clothespins adds an element of fine motor work.
*Bonus Center* Count & Find the Number 0-10
