Developmentally appropriate Spring math centers for the preschool, pre-k, and kindergarten classroom! This resource is perfect for all developmental and cognitive levels of early childhood. The centers are fun, engaging, and offer challenges and reinforcement of basic skills.
This resource is set up with 3 levels of developmentally appropriate Spring themed Numeral Formation and Numeral Writing centers for the early childhood classroom. Every class is different, every student is different, so this resource gives you the option of starting out slowly, building on what your students know, and offering a challenge as skills are mastered.
Level 1: Correct Formation Large Numeral Writing Practice
This beginning level will help students practice making the shapes of numbers correctly. Follow the arrows and trace the numbers! This beginning level has extra large numbers for those developing fine motor coordination and just learning to use writing implements. This is a great way to introduce numeral formation while developing fine motor skills.
Level 2: Flower Petal Count, Trace, Color or Fill
This center activity builds on the correct formation activity by introducing counting as well. I have included a black and white and a color option. There are so many ways to use this center-you can choose to use the pages as Play-doh mats, or just tracing and counting sheets. Choose what works best for you and your students.
Level 3: Count the Tulips, Trace the Numbers
This activity builds on the first two. In this activity the numbers to trace are a lot smaller and are in standard lines. There are arrows directing the students to correctly form each number, and the tulips in the garden are small and will require very careful counting. At this level, it should be a challenge, but not too difficult that it becomes frustrating. The real difference in this center is size.
