Happy Spring Friends! These 12 engaging math centers with a Spring theme are just the thing to help your students review and practice important math skills. They are geared for first grade and they are common core based. Every center comes with a recording sheet. I have included everything in color and black and white for your convenience. *****Please note that the total number of pages includes both versions.
Here is a description of each center:
*Caught you Butterfly!- Students will determine the missing addend in a number sentence by "catching" butterflies in the nets to figure out the missing addend.
*Counting in my Rain Boots!- Students will practice numbers to120. Number cards to 120 are included. Students can use these cards in a variety of ways. The color cards are differentiated by color for even and odd numbers, multiples of 10, and multiples of 5. There are also header cards that students can use to sort the numbers.
*It’s Raining Numbers!- Students will show different ways to represent a number. Students will determine the number on the umbrella and find the 3 raindrops that represent the number.
*Double Digit Spring Monsters!- Students will practice adding and subtracting 2 double digit numbers. They can practice writing the number sentences in a vertical format.
*I Love Earth this Tall!- Students will put sets of three picture cards in order from shortest to longest and longest to shortest.
*Measure-a-Bug!- Students will put sets of three picture cards in order from shortest to tallest and tallest to shortest.
*Bunny Time!- Students will match analog clocks with the matching digital times. Students can also sort times by hour and half-hour.
*Buggy for Word Problems!- Students will read and solve 10 word problems by showing their work and writing a number sentence. Word problems include double digit addition and subtraction, and 3 single digit addition.
“Hoppy” for Math Facts!- Students will determine if number sentences are true or false by solving both sides of an equation. Students will sort the number sentences.
*”Tweet” Fact Families!- Students will sort addition and subtraction bird fact cards to match the right fact family.
*Flower Power!- Students will compare 2 numbers by using the symbols <, >, or =. Students will also complete the sentence by writing the words “less than,” “greater than,” or “equal to.”
*Spring into Shapes!- Students will sort each 3-D shape by shape picture, shape name, and real life objects. There are 3 header cards for students to sort their cards under.
