Grand Staff Review- Use a set of alphabet cards to drill the notes on the staff (click here for a giant printable grand staff)
. Start off with both players on Middle C, then draw a card and move to that note on the staff. The first one to draw the “Middle C, You Win” card wins the game.
Finger Number Review- Place all the cards either in a stack or in a bag/box. Draw a card one at a time and then have the other person name an finger number e.g. “Simon Says put your (2) on A.” Play until you have used all the cards.
Composing- roll a dice and then pull that number of cards out of a box/bag. Create a short melody by arranging the letters into a fun song!
General Review Scavenger Hunt- Scatter all the cards around the room- have the student race to find the cards and bring them back to you. For more advanced students, have them match the cards to a grand staff note. Less advanced, have them identify the card and piano key as they hand them back to you.
