Idiom for the day will get your students analyzing figurative language. The idiom pennant is a four square organizer. The categories are set to picture, meaning, sentence, and antonyms but you are able to edit that.

Differentiation Ideas:

Provide the idiom in context by providing the answer key slide. Then, have students use their own sentence and picture with the idiom.

Below are the ten spring idioms included in this resource:

spring fever

a little birdie told me

don't put all your eggs in one basket

butterflies in my stomach

don't count your chickens before they hatch

black sheep

stick in the mud

bigger fish to fry

busy as a bee

fly on the wall

The pennants can be used digitally or printed. The format of the google slide is 8.5 by 11. Students can zoom in if they are using the pennants digitally.
