Sentence scrambles like these have been used successfully by Reading Recovery teachers for years. It is great for emergent readers and/or for struggling readers and writers! Kids LOVE this activity!
These task cards provide students with an interactive reading & writing activity. They can be used in a variety of ways. See the preview for some examples of how to use.
Students read the task card. They then copy the sentence onto a sentence strip (or the sentence paper provided). They then cut apart the sentence and mix it up. They then practice re-creating the sentence by putting the pieces back together in the correct order.
Worksheets are provided for each task card. The worksheets contain the mixed-up sentence, a place for pasting the sentence back together in the correct sequence and a lines for writing the sentence. (The back can be used for an illustration). I also included a "blank" worksheet so that you can create your own sentence scrambles.
This would be a great literacy center!!
