This activity is for beginning notation readers (for me, high kindergartners and 1st graders). Students practice identifying quarter notes (ta) and beamed eighth notes (ti-ti) as well as making curricular connections with syllabification. This activity also has them producing something to show teachers and parents the musical things being done in your classroom. Plus, they pick their pictures and the order so they can say the composed the rhythm. Win-Win!
