Looking for a fun center/game for your students to play and learn with this spring?
This EDITABLE pack includes 18 spring themed game boards that can be made for ELA and/or math practice and review!
Be sure to download the preview to see all 18 game boards!
This is a zip file that contains an editable version in both Adobe and Power Point. In Adobe the editable font/size/color is fixed and pre-determined. In Power Point you can change the font type, color, size and location! You can even add graphics/pictures for other fun and interactive games! Unzip the file and use the format that works best for you and what you need!
Because they are editable, they are perfect for differentiation and multi-grade classrooms! This game is easy enough for PreK students (ID letters/numbers/connect picture to letter/sound) but can be fun for older grades to play (higher level math, spelling patterns, word problems etc), as well!
This Pack Includes:
*Directions & Suggestions for Use
*Workmat for 6 (1 dice play)
*Workmat for 12 (2 dice play)
*18 6-spot Editable ‘Playing Cards’ Mats
*18 12-spot Editable ‘Playing Cards’ Mats
*18 Full Color Spring Theme Reveal Pictures Including:
~reading kids (red and white hats)
~St. Patrick’s day
~caterpillar life cycle
Directions/Suggestions For Use:
*Print the workmat on cardstock & laminate- can do on spring colors/pastel to follow the theme & make more festive!
*Use the editable feature to type in the word, number sentence, word problem, letter, number, etc you want students to practice.
*Print the page of ‘questions’ you created using the front/back option with the color picture page below it. Choose ‘print on both sides using the short edge’ (you have the option of choosing 6 areas (1 dice) or 12 areas (2 dice) so the 2 mats ‘sandwich’ the colored picture mat for printing purposes.
Ex. For the first mat print 6/7 for 6 spaces or do 7/8 for 12 spaces)
*Laminate the page and cut on the dotted lines.
How To Use:
For 6 space play- children get 1 dice. For 12 space play- students get 2 dice.
Give students each dice, workmat and playing cards that are labeled 1-6 (or 1-12). Have students place cards picture side down – matching the numbers- so that the ‘questions’ are shown.
Students roll the dice, answer that numbered question, if correct- flip it over to reveal a part of the picture (if not, they roll again). If choosing 12 play option, students roll 2 dice and add the 2 together to see what number to reveal for numbers 7-12 (use just 1 dice for 1-6)
Continue to roll until all 6 (or 12) questions are answered, the cards have been flipped & the picture is revealed!
Students can switch with a friend, or have multiple sets made and ready for students to switch out and continue to work until time is up.
Use for math or ELA to meet Common Core Learning Standards
**Make sets students can write-on/change! Laminate and have them write sight words, vocabulary words, etc with dry erase markers. They roll, say, flip and reveal their own words/math problems and then erase and make a new set for continued play!**
