If your students need sentence writing practice, these picture writing prompts are perfect to prompt beginning writers. Great for independent practice, as homework, or to set out at a writing center. These are also perfect to work with small groups or to done as a whole class lesson.

Often journals can be too vague and students don't know what to write or how to start. These pictures are the perfect starting point for students to write 1 or 2 simple sentences.

I encourage my students to color and then write, that way they can write matching sentences. For instance "The girl is splashing in the puddle. She is wearing yellow boots".
