Spring, Summer, Winter, and Fall Interactive Books
These Spring, Summer, Winter, and Fall Interactive Books helps students work on labeling, matching, sorting, expressive and receptive language. Each Book contains 10 pages of pictures. The Fall Interactive book includes an apple, football, pumpkin, acorns, hay, corn, turkey, tractor, leaf, and a rake. The Winter Interactive Book includes a snowflake, hat, mittens, icicle, snow, snowman, hot chocolate, ice skates, penguin, and a sweater. The Spring book includes flowers, rainbow, rain, chick, umbrella, frog, rabbit, a bee, butterflies, and eggs. The Summer book includes pictures of a bicycle, sun, beach ball, pool, sunglasses, watermelon, sandals, ice cream, a popsicle, and a boat. Students are asked to identify and fill in the missing word in each sentence.
Directions: Depending on the grade level, the teacher will have the student independently read each sentence. The student will be asked to label the picture and show their understanding by matching the correct word/picture to the correct page. Every sentence begins with the sentence, “I see a ___.” For lower level students, the words have the identical picture next to it. For higher level students the students have to find the correct word to describe the picture.
To make: Print and laminate each page. Cut out each individual word and laminate them. Put soft Velcro on the sentence line and hard Velcro on the back of each word. To keep all of the words together I use an envelope or ziploc bag that I attach to the end of each book.
