Writing is an important life skill that students not only need for school but also for communicating. This book was designed for students to practice their writing skills through tracing and drawing based on a set of vocabulary that includes 5 words for each assignment. After they have traced and drawn the first practice page they can write their own journal entry. There is space for 3 to 5 sentences to be written. This is a great introduction to journal writing.
This journal writing book for beginners covers 12 different topics for spring to include:
• Spring • Rain • Flowers
• Birds • Park • Bugs
• Farm • Pond • Easter
• Pets • Sports • Travel
This Journal also contains a set of vocabulary flashcards in the back for each topic.
This book was designed to be ready to use with very little prep. The only thing to do is to print it out and give to your students with instruction. There are 3 steps to the instruction:
Step 1: look at the vocabulary (5 words). Listen and Repeat. Trace the paragraph.
Step 2: Draw a picture based on the theme and vocabulary words.
Step 3: Write or copy another paragraph on the other side. Read short sentences.
There is also a reading page with simple sentences for the students to practice identifying vocabulary and sight reading and vocabulary flashcards for extra practice and coloring if the young learners need extra practice.
We hope your students enjoy learning to write and have fun with these short journals.
