"Hygge" is the Danish art of happiness and living well - it focuses strongly on friendship, community, comfort, and nature. These writing prompts can be shown to your class in the morning, to help your students visualize while journaling aspects of what happiness and living well means to them.
The hopes of this product is that students will start their day off on a "happy" and "comforting" note, as hygge can be looked at as a branch of mindfulness, which many schools are starting to implement. A great way to end the school year positively!
This product is best used to show students at the start of the day, as a "bell-ringer." Show students one prompt per day (20 prompts all together), using your projector or smart board, and have students use their writing journals to respond to the prompt. The prompts are presented using both words, and pictures, for the different types of learners in your classroom. When responding to the photo prompts, students are asked the following three questions: "I see," "I think," and "I wonder."
