Identifying and composing figurative language is an important skill for students to develop. Connecting this skill to the seasons (this time spring) helps make it a fun lesson. These tasks cards review eight different types of figurative language: simile, metaphor, alliteration, onomatopoeia, personification, allusion, pun, and irony.
These task cards are aligned with Common Core Standards L.6.5.a, L.7.5.a, and L.8.5.a.
These task cards can be used in multiple ways: independent practice, whole class review, or differentiated assignments.
