Reinforce sight words, sorting, sequencing, and main idea and details with this fun and engaging emergent reader! My "Springtime on the Farm" mini book practices the sight words look, said, there, is, I, see, a, with, her, and, little, and some color words. It also features the names of adult and baby farm animals. The story features semi-predictable text and follows Jim and Meg as they visit a farm in the springtime. I have included three response activities. First, students will sort pictures according to whether they are baby or adult farm animals. Second, students will complete a “match flip book” main idea and details graphic organizer. Given the main idea, students will draw and write details from the text. Detailed directions are included with this easy to complete activity! Once complete, students will be eager to share their creations. Last, students will draw, in order, the animal pairs that Jim and Meg saw on the farm.
