Eighth Grade Mathematics students must be fluent in basic integer operations. In Part I of this Sprint, students are given one minute to complete 30 addition and subtraction problems with integers. The teacher, or a student, reads aloud the answers to Part I and students record how many problems they answered correctly. Repeat this process for Part II. Students calculate their improvement score and share with the class. This Sprint can be used weekly to allow for students to see improvement throughout the school year.
