This is a math and language arts integrated mini unit focusing on the topic of spiders. This packet contains fifteen activities; all with suggested directions and aligned standards. The following is a list of activities included:
Spider Mania (Counting sets, writing numbers, and comparing to see which set is greater/least)
I See Spiders (Emergent reader - Students count the number of spiders on each page, and write the number to complete the sentence. They will read each sentence, identify the color word on each page, and color the picture accordingly)
Spider Writing Map (Describing what spiders are, what they have, and what they can do)
Counting On (Students will count each set, write the number, and then count on; writing the next two numbers as well)
Making 10 (Students will use spider cards and tens frames to find ways of making 10.)
Spiffy Spider ABC (Students will organize letter cards into abc order, and then write the letters in order).
Web of Rhymes (Students will sort and organize rhyming words into groups)
S is for Spider W is for Web (Students practice identifying the letters Ss and Ww, and the letter sound for each.)
Where's the Spider (Position Word Booklet)
Sight Word Roll (Students roll a die, color a graph to show how many times they roll each word. They will write the number to show how many times they rolled each word, and determine which word was rolled the greatest number of times, and which was rolled the least number of times)
I Can Use Proper Spacing (Students practice using proper spacing. 4 practice sheets are included)
Spider Writing Web (Use as a whole class, or individually for pre-writing, or to demonstrate knowledge of spiders prior to the unit and/or after completing the unit.

Spiders on a Roll (Students roll the die and color the spiders accordingly. After coloring all spiders, they count the number of each color, and compare to see which color they had the greatest/least number of.
