“Square Cat” Diversity Tolerance Lesson Character Ed 4 video & Activity
I love the book, “Square Cat”, don’t you?? It is so cute, and the illustrations are just perfect. The character, Eula, feels that she does not fit in because she is square instead of being round like the other cats. Her friends try to help her become more “round”, but she and they figure out that being square has its advantages! What a wonderful story.
It includes 16 slides and links to 4 videos which includes a link to a video of Counselor Bev reading the story. Videos are short and drive the message of diversity and acceptance of differences in others. They are all very upbeat. One has Elmo and Whoopie. So cute! The little ones are going to love this!
An easy to prep activity is included, also. The kids will just love this lesson.
I would schedule at least 30 minutes for this lesson and activity, and it could easily take longer if you encourage discussion.
The PowerPoint is easily personalized and includes both animations and transitions to hold your students' interest. Make your lesson come alive for your students and help them to connect to the concept in a fun way that will help them to remember the important lessons you need for them to remember.
