Help students understand the meaning of roots with this 2-page set of interactive notes.
Students will learn definitions of important vocabulary like index, radicand, perfect square, and perfect cube. They will evaluate square roots, cube roots, and fourth roots. They will simplify roots and locate the values an a number line. They will also estimate the value of square roots that do not result in whole numbers. (This understanding will help them estimate irrational numbers.)
The notes are meant to be completed without calculators.
You will receive a PDF of the 2 pages of student notes, plus the answer key.
This resource is part of the Exponents and Roots Lesson Bundle.
