With each lesson, students get a chance to practice examples with me after I've taught the concept. Plus, there is a practice video for them to practice everything together.

You'll need: graph paper & number line paper from -10 to 10 (can be found free online).

Optional: Blocks can also be used in the Lesson 1 video.

Lesson 1 Perfect Squares Video (12 min):

Quick reminder of exponents and side lengths of squares are the same.

What are perfect square numbers?

What's a radical sign? What's a square root?

List of perfect squares and square roots from 1 - 10.

What about numbers that aren't perfect squares? What about their square roots?

Identify which numbers are the perfect squares.

Lesson 2 Positive and Negative Square Roots Video (7 min):

Positive numbers have BOTH positive & negative square roots.

Example problems of positive & negative square roots.

Label the number line.

Complete the number line.
