In this activity, students will use their knowledge of perfect squares (from 0 to 20) and square roots (from 0 to 400) to answer the questions on 30 task cards. More specifically, students will…
• Identify the perfect squares from 0 to 400
• Identify the two consecutive whole numbers between which the square root of a given whole number lies (estimate square roots)
• Define a perfect square
• Find the positive or positive and negative square roots of a given whole number from 0 to 400
There are so many ways to use task cards in the classroom. I have included a few of my favorite ways to use them in the preview of this product, but feel free to use the cards however you would like!
This resource has 30 task cards (6 per page), a 2 page student activity sheet, and an answer key! See the preview and thumbnails for a closer look at the questions.
