*Intended for developing language and writing skills in preschoolers and Kindergarten aged children.
The material from this book was created from years of observing how young children learn and absorb information. Methodological repetition coupled with introduction of familiar objects enhances the child's ability to attach phonemic representations. In this book, the child has the opportunity to practice recognizing the attributes of the written word, the shapes, lines and curves of letters, the opportunity to associate sounds with corresponding familiar pictures. The child is also introduced to simple vocabulary words to build confidence in phonemic awareness. There is a craft activity that enables the child to have tactile memory of the letters of the alphabet. Sight words are provided as well for the emerging reader to practice and use in beginning writing exercises. There are short reading practices which the child can illustrate while simultaneously assessing their own learning.
