St. Patrick's Day
St. Patrick's Day Writing Idea (journal entry about holiday)
Common Core Writing Standard: 3, 4, 5
This is a 4-page document that contains a set of 36 cards that students must "draw" from in order to write their journal entry for the St. Patrick's Day celebration.
Students will draw six cards. The cards contain words or phrases that are associated with St. Patrick's Day. Some of the words or phrases on the cards are Dublin, celebrate, leprechaun, pot of gold, once upon a time, I caught one, etc.
Students are then asked to write a journal entry using all of the six words or phrases. This activity is meant to be a fun, quick 1-2 period project.
As a teacher, everything is provided for you.
