I used these activities as centers. The students had so much fun with each activity.
- Leprechaun Addition Activity:
This is a fun activity that uses Dominoes to help practice addition skills.
Students will put a domino in the blank rectangle on the leprechaun. They will count the dots on the left side of the domino and then write that number in the far left box. They will then count the dots on the right side of the domino and write that number on the corresponding box. The students will add together the numbers by counting the dots and write the total in the corresponding box.
To prepare this activity you can print, cut in half, and laminate. This will allow students to write on it with a dry erase marker. Students will erase and continue with different addition problems. This product comes in color as well as black and white.
- Rainbow Addition/ Art Activity:
This activity can be used as a fun art activity. Students can paint the rainbow with watercolors, or simply color it with crayons or markers. Students can glue fluffy cotton balls onto the clouds.
This activity can also be used as an addition practice as well as an art piece. Students color the rainbow leaving the clouds white. Students will draw different colored dots on each cloud. Students will count the dots on the left cloud and write that number on the corresponding line in the addition strip sentence. Students will count how many dots are on the right cloud and write that number on the corresponding line in the number sentence. Next, students will add the two numbers together and write the total. This is a fun way to practice addition and use it as an art piece to display! This addition activity is similar to my ladybug addition activity!
