PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Craft Packet:
Leprechaun Hat
Print and laminate vocabulary cards you can play a matching game or memory game to introduce the new vocabulary words pg 8-11.
Or You can use the cards on page 12-13 to teach the new vocabulary.

To make craft:
Step 1:Copy page 5 on green paper.
Step 2: Have students cut out hat.
Step 3: Students will pick an Saint Patrick’s Day vocabulary word, write the word, draw picture and use it in a sentence
Step 4: Copy page 6 onto to card stock (thicker paper) in order to make it a tracer. Have students trace one on to black paper to make the band for the hat. Students will glue on hat below box
Step 5: Copy page 7 onto yellow paper give each student one buckle. Students will cut out it out the inside square. Students will glue on top of black band.
Step 6: Cut construction paper landscape (hot dog length) into 2 inch stripes. Each student will need one and half to 2 stripes to make a band. The student should glue hat onto one band. The teacher should staple the band fitting it to the child’s head. See pictures next page

Students will read the sentence, then cut and paste the picture to match the sentence

Students will draw a line to the matching picture from the sentence. Then color base on what the sentence says
Ten FRAMES pg 20-23
page 20 students will color in the ten frames to show the number they should fill in the first ten frame first. Then color in the next ten frame.
REMEMBER: in common core we say “10 ones + 4 ones” for 14=10+4
page 21 Students will write how many hats and how many pots of gold then solve the problem (make sure you point out they all add up to 10)
page 22 Students will draw to fill in the ten frame to see how many more they need to make 10
page 23 The equations should be 18=10+8. So the first ten frame plus how many are outside the ten frame.
REMEMBER: in common core we say “10 ones + 4 ones” for 14=10+4

Differentiated for different levels students will write the numbers that come next
Number bonds pg 27-28
Common core loves Number bonds! fill in the missing number for each addition problem
Number words pg 29 circle the number the word
Different ways to show adding and subtracting pg 30
Students will cut and paste to match the different ways to solve the problems
Students will roll two dice add the numbers and then color the sums pg 31. Then roll again until their drawing is complete.
