This Leprechaun writing resource is an engaging way to practice narrative writing skills during the weeks surrounding St. Patrick’s Day. The mini writing unit begins with an informational passage about leprechauns so that students gain a better understanding of what a leprechaun is, where they come from, and what they’re known for. Then, students take the information they’ve learned from the passage to write their own fictional narrative about a leprechaun. Scaffolded sheets guide them through the creation process while plot maps and outlines help sketch their stories. For visual learners, I’ve included a set of picture cards that can be used to help plan and organize students’ stories.
It too was designed to be little to no prep and works well as an emergency sub resouce!
