Irish culture is full of ancient Celtic knot designs. Different varieties of the endless knot appear in many decorative designs throughout Ireland. Don't just spend St. Patrick's Day talking about leprechauns, rainbows, and lucky charms! Spend some time this St. Patrick's Day appreciating some real Irish culture and art.
In this graphing activity, students will practice plotting coordinates on 1 Quadrant OR all 4 Quadrants to create a Celtic endless knot. Let students practice plotting ordered pairs and graphing on a coordinate plane at their skill level.
There are a total of 4 coordinate planes available for modified difficulty:
All coordinates are whole numbers- no fractions or decimals.
Students can use whatever 3 colors they want so that each final product is unique.
This could be used as a do now, an early finishers assignment, sub plans, homework, or simply a fun activity to do on St. Patrick's Day to put on their lockers or dress up a bulletin board!
Graphing paper, coordinates, and answer keys are included.
