This includes a reading about the history of St. Patrick and the day we now celebrate. It includes the history of who St. Patrick was, how the shamrock is associated with this day, and why it is celebrated on March 17th each year. It also includes other interesting facts about the first parade for St. Patrick's day and where it was held.
Students first read the article and then cut out and paste together the shamrock. Then students reread the article to answer the questions that are on the shamrock. As they do this they can highlight where they found the information in the text. Showing their evidence of where it was in the text.
When completed, students can color the front and it can be hung in the classroom, bulletin board, or simply go home with students.
