Product Description
St. Patrick's Day Math Game: Coordinate Graphing "Find the Gold" Game

Students will apply their understanding of coordinate graphing to graphing points and Identifying given points in this St. Patrick's themed game. The goal of the game is to find your opponent's hidden gold before they find yours!

Included in this Product:
♦ teacher guide (1 page)
♦ 3 versions (2 pages each) are included to allow you to provide differentiation in teacher chosen levels or as an option for student choice.
→ Version 1: All Quadrants -10 to 10
→ Version 2: All Quadrants −4 to 4
→ Version 3: Quadrant 1 ONLY
♦ QR activity slips for early finishers (1 page)

Product Procedures:
1. Photocopy one set for each student. I use construction paper as a screen between the students. Have extras for students who want to play a second round. Note: the modified version may allow students to move through rounds quicker.
2. Use the following QR link to the additional game as an activity for early finishers or for homework for all students.

In The Classroom:
This activity is intended as additional review and practice graphing on coordinate planes. I have included three levels. One with smaller numbers and larger grid spaces with labeled quadrants for students who require higher level of modification. The third version is a version of the game with Quadrant 1 only for classes who have not yet learned negatives or Quadrants II, III, IV. I have included I usually use this following a prior lesson of placing smartees on a grid and asking students to identify the location of the smartee. If they are correct they can eat the Smartee. ;)

Students will mark their "hidden gold" on their grid. When their partner guesses, the record the coordinate and mark an X on the board where he or she hit. They will then record their guesses on a separate grid, recording an X for a miss and an O for correctly guessing the location of gold. Find all 15 gold pieces first and you win!
