These St. Patrick's Day 1st Grade Math Money Card activities include games that address Common Core (CCSS) for a bit of luck in your math center. The standards emphasized for two games are listed on the student worksheets.
Included in your download:
Direction Sheet with visuals for the three games included
Money Cards in color and B/W. 4 pages each totaling 24 cards.
Worksheets to see student's work and keep accountable:
2 pages for "Add it up!" - add the two amounts w/o regrouping
2 pages for "Beat that!" - compare the two amounts recording > or <
2 pages for "Count it out!" - drawing coins to show the amounts
Common Core State Standards:
1.NBT.C.4: Add within 100. Understand that in adding two-digit numbers, one adds tens and tens, ones and ones.
1.NBT.B.3: Compare two two-digit numbers based on meanings of the tens and ones digits, recording the results of comparisons with the symbols >, =, and <.
Although money is not a standard, the math series my district uses does quite a bit with money. So this center activity is going to be fun for March while still addressing at least two of those standards. We can still be learning while we are having fun.
