St. Patrick's Day!
This St. Patrick’s Day Freebie contains 24 rounding task cards—both whole numbers and decimals. They are available in both color and black and white.
The lettered task cards may be posted around the classroom or on a bulletin board. Students may be given a copy of the St. Patrick's Day student record sheet on page 9. As they walk around the classroom, they will round each number to the under lined digit. An answer key is also included on page 10.
This St. Patrick's Day Rounding also resource contains a pair of number lines on page 4. Laminating these number lines will allow students to work out the rounding task cards on the number lines using dry erase markers. They should find three numbers on the number line. For example, if they are rounding 4,635 to the nearest hundred, they should find the hundred before the 4,635 (4,600). Then, they should find the hundred after 4,635 (4,700). Next, then should find the midpoint between these two hundreds (4650). Finally, they should have their leprechaun frog hop to the closest hundred.
A math station may be created by providing task cards, a record sheet, a laminated number line, and a dry erase marker. (Task cards do not need to be cut up if being used as a math station, just slip the task cards in a sheet protector.)
