St. Patrick's Day Measurement. This is a measurement (non-standard units) activity for St. Patrick's Day or to accompany your St. Patrick's Day or Measurement unit. Print, cut and laminate the picture cards and shamrock rulers, and provide the recording sheets for your students to record their measuring.
This can be done as a "measure the room" activity by posting the images around the room, or you can scatter them around on desks/tables and have students find them. Alternately, you can place them all in a bin and have students use it as a center.
There are two pages of recording sheets with 6 images on each. It works well to photocopy the recording sheets back-to-back if you are using all 12 of the cards at the same time. Otherwise, you can place the correct recording sheet with the 6 matching cards in a center.
Please note, for the purpose of this activity the relative sizes of the items may not be realistic.
I have also included a sheet for your students to measure items of their choosing. They can draw or print the name of the item they are measuring with the shamrock rulers.
