With this St. Patrick's Day Activity, students first solve place value and addition problems. They then color in these numbers on a hundreds chart to discover the mystery picture. This mystery picture is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and a four leaf clover - how lucky!
There are three versions:
The easiest are problems in this format: __ tens __ ones (ex. 6 tens 7 ones = 67).
The next version has some of the __ tens __ ones problems, as well as expanded notation (60 + 7), using doubles, adding 10 (57 + 10).
The first two versions use the 1-120 number chart.
3. The more challenging version uses a number chart ranging from 400-520. It has problems such as these: 4 hundreds 6 tens 7 ones, 400 + 60 + 7, 367 + 100, 457 + 10.
