Roll and Read with Consonant Vowel Consonant (CVC) Nonsense Words (St. Patrick's Day Theme)
6 nonsense word COLOR Roll and Read printables.
Either is a great little resource for your RTI table or literacy stations.
Tidbits of information included as to how I use this little resource in my own first grade classroom.
Objective: To practice Nonsense Word Fluency independently, but while in an RTI/Regular Reading Group Setting.
Directions: Student rolls the die, places the die on the appropriate die on their mat, then reads the corresponding words.
****My students play this little gem of a game at the RTI Teacher Table. We rotate into a different seat after each game is practiced. This allows the children some movement and they love getting to time themselves with a different set of words!**** Everyone wants to practice ~ even the kids who don't need to do so! LOTS OF LAUGHS! :)
You can tweak the game to suit your preferences. Allow students timers when playing Roll and Read! (I have 1, 3 or 5 minute sand timers which the kids can use! Using a timer adds NOVELTY and the brain loves things that are NOVEL! )
***If you have time constraints and do not have access to lamination, simply drop the game in a plastic sleeve.***
