Challenge your students of all levels with this fun activity. A 12 point is an activity that has scaffolded questions that students complete to earn a total of 12 points. There are 3 problems worth 1 point, 2 points, and 3 points and 2 problems worth 4 points. Students must do a variety of levels of problems in order to earn all 12 points.
For example, my lowest level students complete 3 single point problems, 2 two point problems, and 1 three point problem. A higher level student may invest more time in the four point problems and then do a two point problem to make up for it. If I have early finishers I challenge them to see how many points they can earn, sometimes offering a small candy/pencil prize to the student who earns the MOST points!
