Look for Leprechaun Loot! Take a leap across shamrocks! ...and more in this SUPER St. Patrick's Day Word Work pack!
This fun St. Paddy's Day unit is a collection of 9 stations, plus several bonus activities, that help students use and apply phonics skills in a St. Paddy theme.
This pack includes a student choice board with files and directions for accompanying station activities. All activities print PERFECTLY in black and white or color!
These stations are designed to be used for one week where students select one station per day or could also be used for two weeks in which all stations will be completed by the end of the two week period.
The open nature of the activities allows for differientiated levels to be met with your students while working on the same concept.
Station 1: St. Patrick’s Day Book: What do you know about St. Patrick’s Day? Write good sentences to tell about the symbols of this holiday.
Station 2: St. Paddy’s Color, Cut, and Label: Students color the pictures that are St. Patrick’s Day symbols. Then they cut them out, glue them to their mat, and label each word.
Station 3: St. Paddy’s Word Search: Students will illustrate the St. Patrick’s Day pictures after reading each word, find in the word search, then write a sentence.
Station 4: St. Paddy’s Bingo: Students will look at each picture and label. If the word is a St. Patrick’s Day symbol, then they will color it. Can they find 3 in a row?
Station 5: “Luck “O the Irish” Sight Word Game: Read the sight words on the gold coins to get rich! Watch out for the Leprechaun! He’ll steal your gold! Color and black and white versions are included to best fit your printing needs!
Station 6: Pound, Tap, and Stamp: Students will pound the word with their fist, then tap each individual sound. After that, students will stamp the beginning sound and write the words in the boxes. Then students will write a sentence about one of the pictures.
Station 7: “Leprechaun Loot!” Number Word Match Up: Read the number word on each pot. Two Levels of Play: 1. Use gold coins to build the number set on each pot. (Color and black and white versions included—print as many as you need.) You may also choose to use candy or plastic gold coins if you have them. 2. Use the equation coins and match to the number word pots to solve the equations.
