It's leprechaun season... woo hoo! My class just LOVES the idea of leprechauns and this book project and craftivity is a great way to let them fully indulge in their Leprechaun Silliness --- while still adhering to the Common Core and practicing our writing skills, of course! For a better look at what's included, just click on PREVIEW!
The materials in this set allow for a pretty open-ended writing topic. You can choose to have your students focus on HOW to catch a leprechaun (how-to) or on what they would do IF they caught a leprechaun (narrative). In this set you'll find the following materials.......
Four graphic organizers:
Three graphic organizers to help us through the writing process and one to help us brainstorm synonyms for the word "run".
Book Cover and Writing Pages:
There are writing pages with the words first, next, then and last already printed on the first line, as well as one blank writing page. Simply decide which pages you'd like to use and copy them with the book cover on the front.
When students are publishing their final drafts, some may feel a little uncertain about how to draw a leprechaun. Therefore, I always like to provide little leprechaun graphics that they can use in their illustrations. Students will draw and color the background, then cut out a leprechaun and glue it into the scene.
I've provided all the materials you would need to complete a super cute, easy-to-make little leprechaun face craftivity! The leprechaun faces, together with the finished books, make an AWESOME bulletin board display!
