St. Patrick’s Day Writing | Leprechauns Mini-unit | Leprechaun Writing Activities
This Leprechaun writing resource is an engaging way to practice narrative writing skills during the week of St. Patrick’s Day. The mini writing unit begins with an informational passage about leprechauns so that students gain a better understanding of what a leprechaun is, where they come from, and what they’re known for. Then, students take the information they’ve learned from the passage to write their own fictional narrative about a leprechaun.
Guided writing sheets walk students through the creation process while plot maps and outlines help sketch their stories. For visual learners, I’ve included a set of picture cards that can be used to help plan and organize students’ stories.
This resource was designed to be little to no-prep for you, last multiple days in the classroom, and works well as an emergency sub plan resource. Simply copy enough pages for your class(s) and keep on hand with a copy of the included Teacher Notes. Perfect for days when you have to be out unexpectedly!
