Happy St. Patrick's Day!
This is an easy, printable St. Patrick's Day craft and accordion book that use basic supplies. Just card stock, copy paper (8 1/2 by 11), a few staples (or brads) to attach the handle, glue and coloring supplies. Print the basket and handle on 8 1/2 by 11 card stock, the accordion book can be copied on copy paper and you are ready to go!
What to Write/Draw in the Accordion Book:
Brainstorm with students reasons they are fortunate. Have students think about some of the following things that they may feel fortunate for (you may want to make an organized list, especially if you want students to choose from each category to complete the book):
*necessities like shelter, food, safety, clean water…
Have students pick 10 (there is room for 11 - 1 per page in the accordion book, but I like to reserve one page for students’ to write their names. Use the front and back of each circle). You may want to limit the number of toys/games/electronics they are permitted to include.
*You could make this simpler for younger students and use only the first section of the accordion book and snip off the tab.
*Add a Challenge: Have students choose 10 things they are lucky to have and place them in order of importance. Right after the title page have students number the pages in reverse order, starting with 10 and ending with 1.
