Is the leprechaun getting more gold or less? This game supports standard 2.NBT.8 and will let your students practice adding or subtracting 10 or 100 from a 3 digit number to find out.
The game can be first played without the recording sheets as practice in small group. Choose which recording sheet best fits the needs of your students. One recording sheet is designed for students who are struggling with mental math and need to use the standard algorithm. The other is for students who are ready to solve the problems with mental math. Individual students or pairs can take turns selecting a leprechaun card and coin card and recording the answers on the worksheet.
There are 30 leprechaun cards and 30 coin cards, plus a few blank extra coin cards. The game can be played many times since the cards will be drawn in a different combination each time.
A pot of gold box pattern is included if you want to make your own for the coins. Pot of gold and leprechaun cuts out are included if you want to use them to dress up your own containers.
