In this activity, students count by 10s and by 1s to solve place-value problems involving dimes and pennies. Then, for each answer, they color in the corresponding square in a 10x10 coloring grid. Problems come in two formats: coins in rows or in columns. When completed, the grid holds a green-and-yellow leprechaun hat. This activity can be done individually as seat work, as a group, or for math stations or money stations.
