☘ Prepositions are easy to teach with an entire slideshow that introduces, teaches and assesses. After that, display the anchor chart and sentence frame, play a differentiated spinner center, play preposition puppets with a leprechaun and his pot of gold, and finish with a bulletin board activity where students create their own prepositions with a sentence frame!
Check out the preview before purchasing!
☘ Slide show—use this interactive slide show to teach the meaning of prepositions, practice using the best prepositions with leprechauns, quick "exit ticket" quiz for the whole group at the end!
>>>Bonus: teach using critical academic vocabulary like "locate" and "determine" (ex. T: "Locate the leprechaun." and T: "Determine the best preposition for this sentence.")
☘ Anchor chart—print on cardstock for displaying. It has an image with sentence as one example, and a chart with some prepositions listed.
☘ Center—print the spinner page and tent (key, sentence frame) and any of the differentiated recording sheets. Students spin a noun and decide the best preposition to complete the sentence frame. Refer to the tent and record on printable sheet for accountability.
☘ Preposition puppets—print on cardstock or regular paper, and use the leprechaun and pot of gold to act out different prepositions. Show students the sentence frame and speak or write down their sentences. Optional: Students can create their own poster with their puppets glued down and the sentence frame completed and attached (see printable page with 6 each).
