How To Use Mats:
Print mats on card stock and laminate.
The amount of mats you choose to copy will vary depending on your classroom Center Group size.
These mats can also be used as a whole group
lesson, reteaching, assessment, enrichment or intervention by printing and making one mat per student.
For a home-school connection these mats can be sent home for extension of skill practice.
To use:Choose a manipulative that you have in the classroom as
markers. Teacher says a number such as 9. Students would put 9 items on the copied mat in the coin by the child clip art. Then teacher asks for students to show how that number can be broken (decomposed) into two groups. Students place items into two groups on the coins on the side of mat.
